Pre-acceptance inspection

The pre-acceptance inspection is performed according to a predetermined list of items to check. The contents of this list must be approved by the Building Boards of Quebec and varies with the type of construction (single family, condo, etc.).

If the imperfections are not noted during the pre-acceptance inspection, the buyer has only three days to add the list of work to be completed or corrected, only and only if it has not yet moved into the home or condo (Note that the appeal period is longer for an inspection of common areas in the case of condominiums).

After this period, apparents defects that have not been identified will be excluded from warranty claims. The property will then be considered as having been seen and accepted as it is. So be careful during this step by choosing a professional, experienced and certified inspector!
